Piers Cunnington Architect AIBC MRAIC
Piers Cunnington received his Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto after an established career in business analysis and project management in the information technology sector. During his graduate studies at the University of Toronto, Piers studied with Brigitte Shim, George Baird and Barry Sampson, winning multiple awards for design and academic excellence.
Prior to returning to Vancouver to join Measured in 2009, Piers worked at Shim-Sutcliffe Architects in Toronto. During his time at Shim-Sutcliffe Piers assisted Project Architect Olga Pushgar with the structural and mechanical coordination for Bet Ha’am Synagogue in Portland, Maine. Piers also had the opportunity to work with Howard Sutcliffe on the construction of the Harrison Island Cabin in Georgian Bay. The experience gained while working with Brigitte and Howard formed Piers’ fundamental disposition toward architectural design and the rigor necessary to synthesize the disparate and competing requirements of a building into a harmonious composition; a composition where the collisions of building elements present the opportunity to reinforce the design. Piers brings this sensibility to his work at Measured and became a full partner in 2014.
