Press continues for Measured’s Veil House, which has been included in Arch Daily‘s recap of the 2020 Wood Design and Building Awards (see the recap video below!).
Veil House is a study in using wood — often thought of as a conventional go-to material for Vancouver’s domestic architecture — in an original, contemporary way. The result is an elevation of wood both through composition and in evolving the traditional typologies of residential architecture while still drawing inspiration from and conforming with neighbourhood norms. Veil House also strived to upcycle used wood material to reduce its footprint as part of its overall sustainability goals.
