Park House is a single-family home and laneway studio, built on a typical 33 x 122 SF building lot. Perched above Douglas Park, it feels as much like a treehouse as it does a family home.
Measured was presented with a unique opportunity to work in collaboration with the interior design firm, Project 22 Design. Measured served as architect and Denise Ashmore, owner of Project 22 Design, as interior designer.
We collaborated with an exceptional designer, Denise Ashmore, in order to create a modern addition in a traditional neighbourhood, with a gain of modern views to the north shore.”
Overall, the home expresses the owner’s love of industrial and mid-century design, with exposed structural steel I-beam and clear fir wood ceilings, a three-sided fireplace and walnut millwork throughout.
The new home, with its expansive glazing, embraces the park and mountain views and invites the inside out as much as the outside in. For this family of four, the home has just the right amount of indoor/outdoor living space for today, with built-in flexibility for future living possibilities as well as a basement suite and laneway home on the same site.
