I grew up
Masters of Architecture, 2017 / University of Toronto
Bachelor of Architectural Studies, 2012 / Carleton University
The firm and its people exhibit a lot of the values I want to develop in myself, so I see working here as an opportunity to gain both experience and mentorship.
I’m drawn to design because
Architecture is not only a solution or response to current needs, but a space for exploration — both physically and within the process of design.
Preferred style of architecture
A space that has affected me
Villa d’Este in Rome was definitely an experience; but you have not lived ’til you’ve experienced the art and architecture on the Naoshima and Teshima Islands in Japan.
The opportunity to develop a cultural space like a museum/gallery on a site that would impose a very strong narrative. The Chi-Chu Art Museum, for example, would be my muse.
Path to architecture
Debt… a lot of debt
Quotes that guide me right now
”Imagination is the only weapon against reality.” — Lewis Carroll
Soccer ball, and as stereotypical as it is — my pencils and sketchbook
Go-to morning drink
Is it possible for anyone not to say coffee?
