Paula Barclay
I grew up
On Vancouver Island in the town of Sooke.
Why Measured?
Clinton and I hit it off immediately. The office is inviting, inclusive, and a professional and fun environment to work in.
Favourite space
Each new space that I have moved around the Measured office is my favourite.
Materials that excite me
The entire Measured materials library.
I love working with clients because
Each of their stories are unique.
I chose Vancouver because
Of its diversity, cultures, beauty and opportunities.
I’m influence by
Marlee Matlin, the activist, actress and prominent member of the National Association of the Deaf.
I’m inspired by
My niece, who showed up and lived life every day, and never said “why me”. She passed away from breast cancer at 40 years old.
When I’m not working you can find me
With my dog and family in our happy place at the lake.
Ball point or felt tip?
Ball point.
Go-to unit of measurement
Imperial.
Quote that guides me right now
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
– Benjamin Franklin
I’m surprisingly good at
Baking.
At happy hour I order
A lemon drop martini.
The best gift I ever gave
I picked a family and collected donations for a Christmas hamper that included an entire Christmas dinner spread, extra food + perishables to fill their cupboards, and toys + gifts for each member of the family. The best thank you was the smile of the family’s faces.
Go-to morning drink
Fruit protein smoothie (raspberry or strawberry, usually).
